Hey guys!

http://www.tinaarena.com/images/album_art/alb-art10.jpg

I just noticed she had a new single out! The album should be coming soon, too. It sounds great, though I haven't found a full-version yet. I still only have a crappy version of "ITALIAN LOVE SONG".

You can hear a clip by watching the video here:

An excerpt from her diary:

Thursday 3. November 2005
Promotion, promotion , promotion!

The last part of promotion for the single was tough - London, Paris, Marseille, Geneva and Brussels all in one week. It´s all a bit much for a heavily pregnant , first time mother. I´m glad to be able to rest now it´s done although I have to say it´s easier to stay occupied rather than sit around waiting for your baby to arrive.
So a quick recap.

The MFM radio and Studio 22 shows in Paris were both great. I love singing live, because of what you get back from the crowd and the NRJ awards in Marseille were no exception. I saw Laam, Jenifer, Amel Bent and also Shirlene Spitteri (Texas) perform so it was quite a ´day for the ladies´ and great to be a part of.

Meanwhile, I´m excited about the forthcoming album release. No matter how long you´ve been in this business, the excitement of having a new single on the airwaves or album on the shelves never goes away. I cant wait to get out and tour next year.

See you then.

Tina

1. Aimer jusqu'à l'impossible [click here to download (http://www.tinaarena.com/media/01-aimer_jusqua_impossible.MP3)]
First single from the album. Written and Produced by David Gategno and Mixed by Paul Guardiani and Duck Blackwell "For me this song sums up the albums style; contemporary sounds and meaningful lyrics. The title says it all .. I don't think you can ever lose by loving too much"

2. Tu aurais dû me dire (oser parler d'amour). [click here to download (http://www.tinaarena.com/media/02-Tu_Airais_du_me_Dire.MP3)]
One of two tracks on the album produced by Robert Goldman (Aller Plus Haut). The gospel 'feel' comes from the 40 piece choir used on the final recordings. "I can't wait to perform this song live because it just ..grooves "

3. Je m'appelle Bagdad [click here to download (http://www.tinaarena.com/media/03-Je_mapelle_Bagdad.MP3)]
'I was drawn to this song because of the title but the lyrics were so beautifully poetic and the eastern strings and tablas really take it somewhere special'

4. Si tu veux mon coeur [click here to download (http://www.tinaarena.com/media/04-Si_tu_veux_mon_coeur.MP3)]
Co-written with/and Produced by Greg Fitzgerald. "The music is so haunting it makes me drift away and the idea for the backing vocals came just as we were finishing recording. I think they really give it something special."

5. J'ai envie de savoir [click here to download (http://www.tinaarena.com/media/05-Jai_Envie_de_Savoir.MP3)]
"I originally wrote this with Paul and Duck in London. The story behind the song comes from a very personal experience so I asked Irene Bo to translate the lyrics with me at the final studio session. It's still true to the same idea"

6. S'il faut prier [click here to download (http://www.tinaarena.com/media/06-sil_faut_Prier.MP3)]
"Robert Goldman at his finest . Big sound, big choir, big song !... It was great to have space to just sing! "

7. Il y a des jours [click here to download (http://www.tinaarena.com/media/Il_y_a_des_Jour.MP3)]
"This was the first demo I heard for this album. I liked it because basically it reminds us that not everyday is going to be fantastic, we all have bad ones too. "

8. Un autre univers [click here to download (http://www.tinaarena.com/media/Un_Autre_Univers.MP3)]
"The title track of the album and an adaptation of 'Woman' - brilliantly translated by V. Hare and again brilliant produced by Paul and Duck. "

9. Et puis après (with Henri Salvador) [click here to download (http://www.tinaarena.com/media/09-Et_puis_Apres.MP3)]
"Every now and then you get to have the most sublime experiences in the studio , this was one of them. Henri is a legend and a genius at what he does and at 88 y.o. , he's also still a very young man at heart. "

10. Changer. [click here to download (http://www.tinaarena.com/media/Changer.MP3)]
"J. Veneruso again helped contribute to this album having worked with me before on. TU ES TOUJOURS LA.....and the duet ET JE TE RETROUVE UN PEU"

11. Si j'avais le temps. [click here to download (http://www.tinaarena.com/media/11-Si_Javais_Le_Temp.MP3)]
"This is a very special song for me . I woke up one morning , sat down at the piano and just wrote the melody in a matter of minutes. We finished the words later that day. I wish it was always this simple"

12 Jamais non jamais. [click here to download (http://www.tinaarena.com/media/12-Jamais_non_Jamais.MP3)]
"I felt daring when we recorded this. It's a very daring song and it's recorded in a 60's style as a tribute to that rich era"

13. Simple désir. [click here to download (http://www.tinaarena.com/media/Simple_Desir_Master.MP3)]
"A good friend Lucy Harrison and I wrote this together in London. I wanted to keep the track as bare as possible because the lyrics are so beautiful . It's the perfect track to close the album as it speaks about never forgetting the simplicities of life.. nature... the planet, and all the other things we cant control"

I knew it was about time... before you start a topic on her! lol

Her new frensh song isn't bad... for a french song! I love how she sings "AIIIMEEEER jusqu'à l'impossibleee".

And she looks fantastic in the video. I think the song has ben played in France since september but the single was only released a couple of weeks ago.

osiris » hehe! yeah apparently it's a france-only release (not surprising) but it's her first french album and with a new label.

It's funny, I never think of myself as a fan of her's, but I do like a lot of her songs. I just have her website bookmarked and when I bored I go looking at artist's I haven't heard from in a while and see if there's an update. Everytime I randomly check her's--there's a big update!

Now, I'm not sure if it's just me, but do you find that her French singing lacks a natural-sounding accent?

Osiris

First, it's not her first french album. Or maybe you meant her first french album with her new label?

Then, I think she's improved with her accent on "Aimer jusqu'à l'impossible". It's certainly not natural but way better than her first french songs. Anyway, her past (and current) sucess in France is mostly due to her weird but lovely accent.

Osiris » Weird! On her website it she talked about how exciting it is to record her first French album...??? That's so funny. I'll find the quote for ya.

So she's popular in France? Is she consider adult contemporary? Or is that just "pop"?I have many of her French songs. Her voice is quite smooth.

I can't believe she's about to drop a kid and she's doing promo and all that!!

I just checked... you were right. :red:

She never released an album with only french songs. But she released at least 2 albums with french songs on them. lol

Btw, we don't have an "adult contemporary" genre in France.

I think you're going to be happy... "Aimer jusqu'à l'impossible" entered the french single charts at #3! It's the highest entry of the week. Madonna is still at #1.

WOW! That's amazing! I'm so impressed. I'm still hvaing problems getting an HQ mp3 of the single, but now that it's out I'm sure it'll be easier. I'll post it soon.

Go Tina!

The first time I saw her is when she performed CHAINS at the WORLD MUSIC AWARDS, I think it was the same year AOB was there and performed BEAUTIFUL LIFE.

I don't think I've ever heard any Tina Arena songs. Thanks for posting her info/MP3s, James!

Can anyone recommend the fastest-paced dance song of hers from the URLs above? I'll download that one first to "sample" her music. Thanks ahead of time for anyone who answers!

Hey Mona! There's a few with quite driving beats.... I don't know them well enough yet, but they are ALL samples, so the files are quite small. :-)

Oh NOOO!!! Not in french (sorry Freanch people!).

I really loved Chains back in 1994 and of course, the dance single with The Roc Project feat. Tina Arena named "Never (past tense)" ( I really advise people to have this one!).

She has a great voice but..come one...an english album please?!

I like Tina Arena very much and I'm so happy she recorded an album in french integrally. She sang a few beautiful songs in french like Coeur de pierre, Tu es toujours la, Aller plus haut. I just loved the new album, every song! :)
And here you can watch Tina Arena, Anggun and Ginie Line singing live Hot Stuff during Symphonic Show in french TV :)
