The one for Europe - Maneater

The second for USA - Promiscuous

I think these two songs will be huge hits but maneater sounds and looks way better. I'm glad they decided to release 'maneater' in europe. BTW Nelly has compleletely changed her style and now she's too commercial.

Never heard Maneater, but the other one plays on MuchMusic...very catchy...very sexy.

I saw her years ago in conecrt...didn't care much about her then...I like her now.

Her US label is really making a push now for PROMISCUOUS. You'll see lots of her! They really need this single to be a strong lead for the album!

Promiscuous has already cracked Billboard Hot 100's top 10! Impressive.

I saw Maneater on TV this morning. She has changed her style hasn't she?? I will have to listen to it a few times before making my mind up :)

It's really weird for me because MANEATER was my nickname in high school!

Eerie!

I've just downloaded the video of Maneater. As I listened to it the first time, I was a bit doubtful. Then I listened to it a second time and now I have it into my mind :-)

She changed so much! I find her more sexy now but I would never say that's a song by Nelly Furtado. I like very much the music style of this song but a bit too commercial. :noway: It seems a song by Britney Spears, you know, it would fit with a video like the one of My prerogative :-D he he he

I must admit it's very catchy, but I'm kind of conflicted. On one hand, I like it, but on the other hand, it doesn't really feel like Nelly. It seems like people are pushing her to be really provocative and the last thing we need is another skanky pop tart...I don't know, do you know what I mean? I guess it will take some getting used to.

Well..she changed..as an artist should do in order to please music buyers and not be monotonous! (Some artist should do the same). However I'm not saying she changed for the best!

For me Folklore is her best album so far...the Song "Cry" and the video is Amazing!

The new tracks sound cool...but are showing a new Nelly!

Have heard Maneater a few times on internet radio A+++
It's the best 'new' song around ,IMO .
Do I have to say the song rocks,,,and is also dance 'able'
get on up an' boogie ! The vocals also have a great edge,,,
it reminds me of early Joan Jett .
Listened 4 times today and glad to see a topic on THB !

I don't get all the hype with these songs, and Nelly seems to have taken Jewels route to get a hit.

Well I would argue that if you listen to her other two albums, she was constantly hinting at R&B-dance, and even breakbeats. Now that she's embraced her womanhood (she's a mum now!) it seems her curves and appeal are showing up in her sound!

She's a hugely talented writer, so you can bet when she attempts a dancier sound she's going to pull it off, and sincerely! The evolution, when you look at her first album especially, is quite natural! it's just she's been away so long

I say what Jewel dead was a little too cheeky that people lost the joke and couldn't appreciate the rest of her album (the only other track I remember as memorable was "STAND").

All that said it's obvious I've been enjoying the new tracks for a while now!!

her last album flopped if I remember correctly. IMO I think she is using the big time producers to save herself from getting a flop.

which is a shame... cos I would've really liked more "I'm Like a Bird" or "Turn off the Light" type songs.

I downloaded the album, and to my surprise there are a lot of good songs on the album! I'm just going to pretend Promiscuous & Maneater never happened. :-)
