View Full Version : The Corrs Thread
I couldn't be the first one to join and not make this thread immediately.
So, quick update:
Home came out in late September. The firs single, Heart Like A Wheel/Old Town, came out a couple weeks ago and flopped. Not shocking.
The new double-DVD, All The Way Home, comes out later this month in most of the world, and December 6 in Canada. It will most likely be released in the US early next year.

Hey there John! I was at HMV the day "HOME" was released. I happen to love it--it's great Autumn music. I love that we get to hear the other girls sing a bit, I don't recall them doing any leads before.

Yeah! It's great to hear Sharon singing Dimming Of The Day. I wish Caroline sang a song, too.
It's not the first time they've done leads. Sharon and Caroline sing No Frontiers as a duet on the Unplugged album, as well as on tour.

*hops on the Irish wagon*.
Let's discuss HOME!
I am in love with Spancil Hill & Peggy Gorden. I adore the old English words!
' tell to me the very reason why I am slighted so by thee' lovely!
My favorite song on Home is My Lagan Love.
It's so simple and pure. Andrea's voice is amazing.
Home will be released in the US! So far, it's scheduled for February 7, 2006.
The album is being released by Rhino and Atlantic (Warner recently purchased Rhino). This is a good sign that we'll be getting All The Way Home, as well. Rhino were the ones that finally released Live In London in the US.

Hi John!
Question: Is this album their swan song? I thought I'd read somewhere that they were calling it quits with this album?

Hell no!
Caroline and Jim have already mentioned a new Unplugged album sometime in the future. It's likely that they'll do another studio album first, though.
Right now, I guess they're looking for a new record label. Their manager mentioned that in an interview recently. I'm guessing that Home was released only to fulfull their contract with Warner/Atlantic.
It may be a while before we get anything new, especially with Sharon being pregnant now, but they're far from calling it quits.

Wheehee Sharon pregnant! First I only heard the rumour but I guess it's true!
Wonder how that will affect touring. Ok replacing Caroline is one thing, but how does one replace the one and upfront violin player?

Well, she's due in the Spring and they don't have any tour planned for next year. It shouldn't affect touring at all.

Home is a very good album. The best song is Buarchill on Eirne, so cool ;-))
It's the first The Corrs album I bought and it has been a good decision.

I've listened to HOME lots now, and I really love it. It's a great album all the way through.
BLACK IS THE COLOUR might be my favourite of the poppier sounding songs!
It's been forever since I posted in here, but it's also been a long time since I've had something TO post.
Here's some news for all of us in the US:
Home will be released via Rhino Records on February 7.
Live In Geneva (NOT All The Way Home) will be released on March 14, probably also from Rhino.
The Corrs are scheduled to appear on the CBS Saturday Early Show on March 11.
So, things are happening again in the US. It's exciting. It looked kinda dark for the US for a while, but it seems like The Corrs really aren't dead here.
I find it strange that Live In Geneva is being released by itself, but it's not a big deal. The concert was all I really cared about anyway.
I would expect more appearances to be revealed in the coming weeks.

i really like this album, the corrs are back with their initial sound, the one which made them successfull
i liked in blue and borrowed heaven, but i prefer forgiven ... and talk on corners because of the irish sound, and at last i find this sound again in home
my fav song is my lagan love
really like black is the colour and obviously haste to the wedding too
hope you're right john when you say home isn't their last album; surely it all depends if home is successfull or not
i'm french, and here in france home is successfull !
