I still believe in Santa. I know that is the 5 year old coming out of me, but it's always nice to believe in things you can't see.
If you don't, when did you stop? Who told you?

i stopped believing when i was about 4 or 5... my older cousins told me, and then i realized that mom and dad used the same wrapping paper as santa.. and i also wondered why they never gave me gifts :).. but i still set out cookies and milk until i was about 10 for my parents sake... i think i thought if they knew i didnt believe anymore i wouldnt get any gifts.
I cannot remember when I believed in santa... Tragic.
I guess I always knew it really was not santa.. but it was fun waiting for him, even though it was the neighbour who was dressed out :-D
I remember one christmas.. Me and my brother sat on the playground outisde, it was thick snow everywhere, really cold and we waited for santa to come and suddenly we see an "old" man coming our way with a "torch/lamp/candle (eek, dunno the real word here) in his hand. When we saw him we got so excited! We both ran home to let our parents know that Santa was on his way!
We both knew he was not real, but it was fun. The only night me and my brother did not fight, haha!

Does Santa bring the gifts in every country? Cos where I live the "Christkind" (baby Jesus) brings the gifts and I never believed in it cos how the heck is the poor little kid supposed to carry all those boxes? I was a smart boy! :-D
We know Santa too but I think I stopped believing when I looked out of the window and saw my dad picking him up a few houses down the street, LOL!

I always thought it sounded fishy, and questioned it as a kid. Finally I asked my mom (knowing the answer already) at 11 or 12, and she told me. And I cried hysterically! lol Because of the fact that my family had been lying to me since I was a kid. That was one of the factors that made me question religion.

I believed in the "Christkind" who brings the presents in Germany...
André>>Hey, that's just not a little kid...it's Jesus! And he doesn't carry all the boxes...The boxes fly with magic to the parents...:re:
I can't remember when I stopped believing in the "Christkind"....
and for Santa...We have a Nikolaus (December 6 th) Never really believed in him cuz "he" always looked so different...and was on the different places at the same time...:-|

Tender: but I did say it's little Jesus! :) And he can fly, and yes, the gifts are flying too. Yeah, right! LOL!
I believe the Nikolaus/Sinterklaas is the original Santa Clause. He was some Turkish bishop bla bla and dressed in blue/purple. Coka Cola dressed him in red and tata... Santa Claus was there.

In my home, Christmas presents are brought by Angel. :_angel:
I saw him when I was 5. :teehee: Ok, I saw just some reflection between trees (it was really snowy day and street lamps was lighting) but I was soo sure then. :re:
I believed in it till my grandmother told me truth when I was 7 or 8. Anyway it wasn't big shock for me :-P
BTW:
In Poland we have different traditions. It depends on place we living or place of origin our families. So Christmas gifts can be brought by:
- Santa Clause (I think it's rather Nicholas bishop)
- Angel
- Baby Jesus
- Star (Bethleiem Star)
- Gwiazdor ( I don't know how it translate :hmm: ...star-man? I gues it's german Weihnachtsmann)

I was the type of kid that would rifle thru closets and under beds to find my gifts ... my parents had to go underground and it turned into a very covert operation  ... ... I always found my gifts for Christmas, Easter, etc. I approached my parents when I was like 8 and said, "I realize that Santa doesn't exist and I know your plans to fool me ... don't bother putting 'From Santa' ... I know who you are! HA!" ... ...
I also was the type of kid that would bum all my friends out and tell them how Santa didn't exist ... :-D

LOL Galenwia. I think I stopped believing in the easter bunny way later than in Santa Claus. The bunny thing is more probable than some old man with a big sack flying with reindeers etc :s
aob80: I thought the Weihnachtsmann and Santa Claus are the same. But right, if Santa Claus is the Nikolaus/Sinterklaas... then what is the Weihnachtsmann? *confused* And I believe the Baby Jesus and the Angel are the same over here. I never heard of the Star of Bethlehem bringing the gifts.
Interesting!

Our Baby Jesus has wings I believe, cos Baby Jesus died. Well, not when he was a baby... but the baby has wings anyway!!! LOL
Err...... Tender?!

No, Baby Jesus doesn't have any wings...He can fly without wings (god bless Red Bull) but anyway Baby Jesus has employees: angels....Those angels help him...I mean there are a lot of Christians celebrating Christmas...:smug: And he doesn't need to fly cuz the boxes are flying...
I can't believe you all don't know this!:loser:

i know mommy and daddy are the ones who put presents under the tree, but i still believe in Santa Claus. it lends so much to the christmas spirit! :-)
and did anybody else used to put a shoe on top of the stove for santa to leave presents in? can't remember if this is something that was commonly done or something that was a tradition in portugal...

The only thing I believe about Santa is that he's a PERVERT and needs to be locked up for paedophilia.
Seriously, HOW can you let children think that an old man creeps into their bedroom when everyone's asleep - and that it's okay???? Is this not double standards?
Okay, moral rant over with. I definitely found out the truth before I got to middle school (aged 8), there's no way you'd still be able to believe when there's kids up to the age of 12 there! (Unless you're Michael, obviously!)
I think the year I found out was when I saw my dad in my room. I think he told me that he was just checking that Santa had been cos he heard a noise...
The Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy were believed in until about the same age. The truth about the Tooth Fairy was probably revealed when I was 6, cos I knocked my front teeth out and wondered if the Tooth Fairy would give me money again, even though they were my adult teeth and got sewn back in... lol I think the last time I got money, I'd lost about 3, so I put them all together and, I used to get £1 per tooth, but I got £5 from... "The Tooth Spider". Hmm. If it wasn't enough that it scared me that a spider had been under my pillow, it totally ruined the fairy idea!

What is the tooth fairy?! Another excuse to buy gifts for little annoying kids? That's not fair, we didn't get anything from Tooth Fairy when we were younger!!!

When your "baby teeth" fall out, you put it under your pillow and the tooth fairy pays you a visit, usually leaving you some money!
I feel a lot of bitterness coming from André that he's unfortunate enough to be German so not have all these treats as a kid! (Pff, and David thinks HE has the power to feel peoples emotions! hehe)

I can't remember who told me schoolmates or a cousin.
I do remember my dad
dressed up as Santa for my school Christmas Show .
When I was 6th grade, 12 years old .
They had this Santa suit, and it fit him, LOL .
It was a alot of fun to see him in that red suit :-)
and all the younger kids going quiet, and behaving . LOL
The toothfairy left me , a quarter of a dollar for each tooth.
Under the pillow, for those who never had a toothfairy.

Lovely, that's 'Auras' - I can see and sense ppl's emotions by seeing their auras.
'Psychomentry' is knowning little glimpses about people also, picking up energies between positive or negativity from them on the object. all that does indeed exists.
However indeed, you free to believe or not, I'm not asking you to, but there are some things that does indeed exists. reading your PM Gem, last night, I was absolute right to the questions that I asked you. :-)
To the topic, Nah, I don't believe in Santa.
David ;)
