Do you like male in uniforms? :_cop: Cause I'm from the anti-downloading brigade.

If you're not a good boy, I will be forced to tie your hands to the bed with this lovely things: :_cuffs: You don't want that, do you?

I love Girls Aloud... :-P Especially Cheryl!! It's been ages since I last saw them...

Osiris
11-12-2005, 12:40 PM
Cheryl is my fave too!

And you really saw them? Lucky you!

LinnieNL
11-12-2005, 12:48 PM
Yes I saw them performing and I met them as well! If you like I will scan some pictures for you later (if I can get my scanner to work... hehe). They're lovely :D

Osiris
11-12-2005, 01:02 PM
Oh that would be nice, thank you! :-*

What were they performing, btw?

Jules.
11-12-2005, 02:49 PM

Too bad Nicola hasn't anything to do...

I don't like Nicola though...she is the dead weight of the group.

Osiris
11-14-2005, 07:46 AM
I find Nadine annoying at timesf. She's like the new Beyoncé: always singing more than the others and trying to catch attention. Plus, she's so skinny.

Give some food to the anorexic girl! :_hungry:

Jules.
11-14-2005, 01:57 PM
i like nadine, but my fave is kimberley :)

btw biology is out today in the UK!

Osiris
11-14-2005, 03:08 PM
Yeah, I ordered it.

I predicted #6 in tomorrow's midweeks.

Jules.
11-15-2005, 02:21 PM
i'm buying it on Friday, as that's the only day I could get it... :|

Joel
11-15-2005, 04:19 PM
I love them! I thought they might have released a dud with Bioligy, but it's really grown on me. I hope they've got a few more gutsy ones on the new album, most of What Will The Neighbours Say is brilliant, especially Wake Me Up :-)

Osiris
11-15-2005, 04:26 PM
Biology is at #6 on today's midweeks... better than Long Hot Summer so far.

Joel
11-15-2005, 04:47 PM
#6 isn't that bad. At least it's top 10 so far... I've been getting really worried no one would take to it!

Gemma
11-16-2005, 06:35 AM
Me, Nick and Tom saw them perform at G-A-Y in February, and they were AWFUL! They only did one song live (Stand By You... Think that's what it's called?) and mimed the other few badly. Their chorerography was all out of time (I think they were drunk!) and there was only four of them!

£10 not well spent.

I'm not a fan, but they're actually not bad! I didn't think they'd last this long. I don't like them enough to actually buy anything by them though... lol

TomUk
11-16-2005, 06:45 AM
It was only £10 well spent if I pulled. I can't remember if I did or not, but I don't mind Girls Aloud, even if Cheryl Tweedy had a go at Charlotte Church.

Cheryl: "I hate that dumpy cow, she's stolen the girls aloud style of music"

Charlotte: "I thought - sell as many records as I have, and sing f**king 'Ave Maria' live, THEN you can have a go."

haha!

Gemma
11-16-2005, 06:52 AM
The only person you were in bed with was me! ...When we eventually stopped drinking the next night!

And er Charlotte Church stole Girls Aloud's music style? Because they were the first people do ever do pop?? Dopey northern cow.

LinnieNL
11-16-2005, 07:00 AM
LOL well go Cheryl... :P I love her really, well actually I just think she f*cking gorgeous *drools*. I wanna go G-A-Y again... it's been ages! I haven't been to the UK for a long, long time.. shame on me! Last time was 2 years ago I think, I went on a shopping trip to Newcastle! But I want to go agaaaaaaaain!

Osiris

Someone mentionned Charlotte Cunt? I can't stand that cow!

Lena from t.A.T.u. menaced to shot her in the head like in All About Us (after Charlotte called her a 'minger'). http://www.sayhey.co.uk/invboard/html/emoticons/stirthepot.gif

t.A.T.u have fantastic songs - I love both their albums, but let's face it - the songs are made by other people and the girls have a reputation in the business for taking themselves far too seriously and being incredibly rude.

Gemma
11-16-2005, 09:34 AM
Er, we already said she's the minger! (So this would automatically mean any ginger!)

The only good thing about her is that she can actually talk English, while the other one just stands there like an idiot.

Russia's answer to Milli Vanilli... but I do like some of their stuff :)

Charlotte rocks too!

Oh and I read that Girls Aloud are going to be equal to Spice Girls' record of having 8 consecutive singles all go top 10. Not bad eh?

TomUk
11-16-2005, 03:52 PM
Joel - loads have bands have had 8 top ten consecutive hits!

Joel
11-16-2005, 04:37 PM
I think this is the first 8 singles they've released.... I don't know, it was The Sun, who knows whether Victoria Newton is telling the truth.

Charlotte just slag off people to sell. And it's not working that much. Evil cow!

Btw, I will talk about you to Lena when I'll see her on Saturday. Beware of the russian mafia! This time, it won't be a bottle that will hit your head.

I'd rather have Charlotte Church who speaks her mind about people (and who is always actually correct!) than t.A.T.u pretending to be lesbian children, pandering to paedophile lust to sell records. :worried:

Gemma
11-17-2005, 05:20 AM
^ What he said ^

Julien - Lena can't fight her own battles and she has to set other people on me? You wouldn't catch Charlotte getting other people to do her dirty work for her! :-P

TomUk
11-17-2005, 05:34 AM
I have seen Girls Aloud 3 times now... I thought they were good, but as Gemma said - the second time I saw them there was a person missing and they mimed, so that probably wasn't the best performance of theirs! I haven't heard the new song yet.

Osiris
11-17-2005, 08:35 AM
Tom: pedophile lust? Eh? Teens have sex too! lol
Anyway, they were force to pretend being lesbian by their manager.

Gemma: I will give Lena your email then. :-P

Back on the Girls Aloud topic... Biology is at #5 now!
The album was reviewed by shit paper The Sun... they said the albums had too much sexual inuendos (HA!) and swearing. That it would shock the children. Rappers anyone?

Is the Uk following the USA's conservative path? :worried:

1. When will people realise that NO artist is FORCED to do anything. You can say NO. Okay, it will piss people off and they might sue but you CAN SAY NO!

2. Bring it on. I can take her. :_chairsho

3. Girls Aloud are specifically aimed at younger generations, rappers are not.

Girls Aloud are specifically aimed at younger generations, rappers are not.

In France teens listen to rap a lot. Especially those living in the big cities' suburbs. Riots anyone?

My point is that blaming them for saying 'shit' or 'suck' in a song is very hypocritical. The same with the whole Hollaback Girl song being censored.
Like children didn't already know those words... http://www.sayhey.co.uk/invboard/html/emoticons/stirthepot.gif

To the canadian acers (hint hint James!): Biology was played on CBC today according to a PJ member.

In other news, Biology is still at #5 in the midweeks: only 800 copies behind Will Young and BEP, but 4000 copies ahead of #6! They can reach the #3 by the end of the week! http://www.sayhey.co.uk/invboard/html/emoticons/hyper.gif

Wow they're doing so well! That's brilliant.... I'd love the top 3 to come out as Madonna, Will, then Girls Aloud... I want Will at #2 because his single is different and I think he'd get slated if he didn't get anything high.

Terry I still find it brill that you give a damn about our charts.... fab!

Jules, I can't handle my humps... I just think they've become a bit of a parody act lately... singing about her bee stings and all. Maybe she should concentrate on her eyebrows. I think they've moved back a timezone now. Christ she looks like a really bad drag queen :worried:

Hey guys! I'm chiming in a bit late here, I've been all over the boards trying to keep up and do technical things.

I of course love THE ALOUD, and have been listening to BIOLOGY non-stop for weeks. I see that SEE THE DAY has leaked, but I think MUZICMATTERS got fed up with me and so I can't download anymore. They let me streamload, but I'm so ashamed of my negative point I don't wanna embarass myself by asking for more songs, LOL! I have to go to a different computer and sign up again because my IP has been red-flagged I think, hhah!

So in short, anyone feel like uploading it here? TEEHEE!

My Streamload is:

acereject

NOW ABOUT THE DVD's: I'm thinking of ordering them both from CDWOW. They look fun. What do people think? I'm hoping to import the album from another place, because I want it to arrive before Christmas. CDWOW is so cheap because they route their shipments through HONG KONG, but that takes a while. Anyone know a good place to import that's affordable? I want the BONUS CD as well.

Apparently the SEE THE DAY video is already out as well??? CAN SOMEONE PLEASE CONFIRM SO THAT I MAY ENJOY MY WEEKEND???

Osiris

Only the live track leaked. The other one is a Nadine solo version of the song.

I own the Girls On Film dvd and it's worth the price just for their music videos! The mini MTV concert is cool too with some interviews (Here We Go performence! Plus the alternative instrumental middle 8 in SOTU is brill!). You've got some making the videos (too short though) and uk performences (Wake Me Up at TOTP being a highlight).

I've ordered the Tour dvd and should received it in the next few days. Long Hot Summer is on it andI've heard their version of Teenage Dirtybag is ace! I can't wait to see Graffiti My Soul live too!

I know, I'm hyper! I'm gonna meet t.A.T.u. in 13 hours! http://www.sayhey.co.uk/invboard/html/emoticons/hyper.gif

---

I just watched the video!

They all look great (except Sarah's hair... too retro at times). They shold just pull back hair on top and pin it like Reese Witherspoon or something.... Oh my, that was quite gay.

I just hate how the videos seem like "just a bit less than great". They just don't stand out, but I mean, that's part of their charm, too--I suppose!

The song is fantastic.

Terry » I already pre-ordered mine from HMV.co.uk -- they had a reasonable price and S&H, all things considered. Not as cheap as CDWOW obviously, but at least it'll get shipped on time and be here in time for Christmas! Let me know what you end up going with..... Actually... I'm gonna start a new thread about this.

I don't knwo about Amazon, but CDWOW is slow. :-( If they have the item in stock, it's really great and reasonable, but they get new releases quite late, so you end up waiting for ever.

I enjoyed the Christmas CD, but it wasn't as good as I thought it'd be. There was too much 60's influence for all the songs.... It's fine in small doses but after a while they all start to sound the same.

After listening to the album a lot, I really love:

BIOLOGY (The best, in my opinion).
WATCH ME GO (I love the rap)!
LONG HOT SUMMER (Really distinct now, after all this time).
IT'S MAGIC (Is that Nicola singing? It's great... Reminds me of Whispers in Blindness for some reason... Maybe a bit sexy, intriguing vocals and lyrics...)

I love the outfits on the new single covers, but I'm a little disappointed with the choice of that song as a single. Sure, it's nice and all, but after "See The Day," I would've preferred something a little more upbeat, like "Models" or "Wild Horses."

Are there going to be any b-sides on the singles?

Osiris

This song is dreadful. A poor man's 'Two Become One'.

I loved 'Biology' though :) Hopefully they pick a better song next time.

While I still don't think HISTORY was particularly amazing enough as a single, it's really grown on me. It feels more eighties than it does as a 2 BECOME 1, which I don't think the girls could ever muster up while still working exclusively with Xenomania.

I adore Xenomania's work, and the production group as a concept. Most of my favourite tunes from the past 6 years have had some Xenomania involvement in some form or another, and I only realized that last year.

NATACHA ATLAS "When I Close My Eyes"
MEL BLATT "Do Me Wrong"

And the list goes on... I just mentioned those two because it took me even longer to realize that DO ME WRONG samples a part of NATACHA ATLAS' track. That pretty much blew my mind when I realized that.

ANYWAY, the point I was making was that maybe after this album the Girls will look at other writers or producers... That's not to say CHEMISTRY hasn't been a success, but maybe it'll be time to switch it up.

I'm curious to see what's planned for the summer! I can't wait for the reality show (I couldn't watch POPSTARS THE RIVALS).

I was not expecting this fall to be almost as exciting as last year. Last autumn was intense. My roommate watched me get new CD's at least once every two weeks.

Now, with GA and the Sugababes coming out with GH's I'm getting all new material from them all over again. It's so great.

SOMETHING KINDA OOH is instantly catchy. The driving dance beat helps a lot and is something we haven't seen from the girls... EVER! If we do get up tempo songs from them it's disguised with a hint of the 60's be the folks at Xenomania (which isn't necessarily bad).

It's a proper dance pop song!!

Osiris
09-13-2006, 10:02 AM
I'm pretty sure it's a Xenomania production. They seem to be able to produce something different each time.

Since Jump and The Show, the catchy hard dance tracks had been missing. Andnow they pull off Something Kinda Oooh which is like 200% catchier than those two.

Something Kinda Ooooh went #3 then... not bad. Highest charting single since I'll Stand By You!

Tom you went?! I was there too (2 people from the front!!! Cheryl threw abottle of water which hit my friend's face lol ). They were bloody amazing though. I got loads of pictures (about 150), so I'll try post some on here or somewhere else online as soon as I can.

I have to agree, I Think We're Alone Now sounded really generic, which is a shame, especially after Something Kinda Oooh is Girls Aloud at their best.

hmm I just saw an ad on telly for "It's A Boy/Girl Thing" and it had I Think We're Alone Now quite prominently in it. Anyone know if this is in the movie? Hopefully another shot at the states for the girls maybe...?
